E Mail communication issues

  • E Mails will be responded to within twenty four hours. No MSN communications will be used and e mails will not be responded to instantly. This allows clients (or supervisees) time to give thought to replies and send back a considered response.


  • E mail is efficient but it may mean misunderstandings occur. Meanings the client intends and meanings the counsellor (or supervisor) intends are open to misinterpretation.


  • No guarantees are given as to whether counsellor (or supervisor) replies will necessarily be acceptable or effective in solving issues or client dilemmas.


  • Clients are encouraged to install their own security systems and protect their communications. Confidentiality may be breached if e mails are sent to the wrong address. Clients are advised to monitor whether other people have access to their emails in case people view replies from the counsellor which are meant to be in confidence.


  • This service cannot be responsible for emails going astray, being read by someone who has access to the client’s e mail or being captured by other computer systems.


  • Communication comes to an e mail facility on my computer which is not accessed by any other person.
